Dry Ginger Powder

Dry Ginger Powder (saunth powder / सौंठ पाउडर) is extracted from the ginger root which is dried. It is a fine off-white or slightly brownish powder that has a strong aroma and a pungent flavor. It is essentially used as a seasoning agent. One can consume up to two grams of ginger powder mixed in warm water with a pinch of salt. This is more effective when had in the morning, on an empty stomach. Dry ginger mixed with salt also helps in reducing inflammation in the body, especially with swollen joints and fingers.
